The Mantra Wall by Nathan Brown
Nathan Brown was originally from Los Angeles and relocated to Nashville at 11 years old, where he embraced the culture shock through skateboarding, graffiti and travel as a sponsored amateur skater.
In the late 1990s he drew inspiration from skate travel, graffiti, the gradient color palettes found in nature and city life, and architectural structural lines, transitioning that inspiration into studio work and building murals across the United States and Europe. He has produced over 70 large scale commissioned murals for communities and brands including Red Bull, Wrangler, Patagonia, Top Golf, WeWork, Google and Spotify.
Brown is now based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, working across large-scale public and street murals as well as indoor private commissions. At The Knowlton, he spent a few days on-site creating his mural, The Mantra Wall, as a freestyle word collage, using over 50 words and positive phrases contributed by The Knowlton crew.
