Never Give Up by Joe Iurato
Joe Iurato is a street artist known for his small, carefully placed wooden cutouts, work that combines a traditional printing process with stenciling. He is also a skater, climber and photographer.
His work is autobiographical, exploring the transition from childhood to adulthood, with children's experience of urban life as a central motif. He lives in New Jersey with his two sons. In recent years his practice has shifted from large-scale figures toward smaller, more placeable wooden pieces.
Iurato's technical style has drawn comparisons to Banksy, though he describes himself as not a political activist. His mural at The Knowlton, Never Give Up, is painted on the Knowlton Walls.
