Dinner under the trusses, cocktails over the water.
Three garage bay doors open onto a 1,200 sq ft deck over the river, a 27-foot peak ceiling overhead, and the Bridgeport skyline standing in for decor. The flagship of The Knowlton, minutes from Fairfield and Westport.
Waterfront, industrial, unmistakably The Knowlton.
Exposed steel truss overhead, factory windows on every side, and a deck that puts your guests over the water. Roll the garage doors open for golden hour or close them and let the string light take over. Nothing about this room reads like a rented banquet room.

One room, built for every act of the night.
The garage doors, the bar, the dance floor: the Boathouse resets between acts without anyone leaving the room.

The Room
A 27-foot peak ceiling and arched wood truss over tall factory windows. Lit here for an evening programme, with the room turned to face a stage, and just as good left to daylight.

The Bar
A glowing bar and lounge setup framed by the garage-door windows, built for a cocktail hour that spills onto the deck.

Set for Dinner
Round tables under the peaked truss ceiling as the garage doors glow at dusk, ready to turn over for the dance floor.
The Boathouse, night and day.
What to know about the room.
How many guests does the Boathouse hold?
The Boathouse seats up to 350 guests or holds up to 500 cocktail-style. Most events host 175 to 300 seated or 200 to 450 cocktail-style, on a 6,500 sq ft event floor under a 27-foot peak ceiling, with a 1,200 sq ft waterfront deck.
Is there outdoor space attached to the Boathouse?
Yes. Three 14-foot garage bay doors open directly onto a 1,200 sq ft deck over the water, with river and Bridgeport skyline views for cocktail hour, photos or an open-air moment during the reception.
How big is the Boathouse, and what amenities does it include?
The Boathouse spans 9,500 square feet, with a 6,500 sq ft event floor, seven gender-neutral bathrooms, two green rooms for getting ready or staging entertainment, and a 750 sq ft catering kitchen, all under one roof.
Does the Boathouse have its own kitchen for catering?
Yes. The Boathouse has a professional 750 sq ft catering support kitchen on site, so your caterer works from a dedicated space built for full-service event production rather than an off-site kitchen.
What sound and lighting does the Boathouse have built in?
The Boathouse has built-in sound and color-selectable ambient lighting, so the room can shift from a daylight ceremony look to a full-color reception without bringing in a separate lighting rig. Intelligent lighting is also available as an optional add-on, run by Nicholson Events.
What kinds of events is the Boathouse used for?
The Boathouse hosts weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, corporate events, fundraisers, Sweet 16s and social celebrations, and is minutes from I-95, Route 8, Route 25 and the Merritt Parkway, with Fairfield and Westport close by.
