Armstrong Gallery FAQ

What people ask about the gallery.

How many guests does the Armstrong Gallery hold?

The Armstrong Gallery is a 1,400 sq ft gallery that seats up to 86 guests or holds up to 125 standing for a cocktail-style event. Most receptions here run 60 to 80 guests. The fire code allows more than 125, and we hold it at 125 anyway, because a room that feels full and comfortable is a better night than a room that is merely permitted.

Does the Armstrong Gallery have its own entrance?

Yes. The Armstrong Gallery has a private entrance directly from Knowlton Street, so guests do not pass through the rest of the campus to reach it.

Is there real art on the walls during events?

Yes. The Armstrong Gallery is a privately run art space with monthly shows, artist talks and live performances, so whatever show is currently hanging stays on the walls for your event.

What kinds of events fit the Armstrong Gallery?
